René Vaughn, Program Design Facilitator for SHARE, assists in the overall administration and implementation of Head Start programmatic activities. She assists in the development and submission of Head Start grant proposals and applications for funding and is the ChildPlus Administrator. Under her supervision are transportation, facilities and central files staff. Mrs. Vaughn is a former Head Start parent who has been employed with SHARE since 1992, where she began her career organizing children’s files. Mrs. Vaughn has served the Social Services Coordinator and the program supervisor for the Mentoring Children of Prisoner’s initiative. In 2021 Mrs. Vaughn became a Certified Community Action Professional (CCAP) through the National Community Action Partnership.

As a state leader, René serves as the SCSHSA Treasurer and the State Coordinator for the Family Development Credential team, which has certified over 75 staff through the University of Connecticut.

Mrs. Vaughn is a founding member of the Greenville West End Lions Club and Vice-President of Southernside Neighborhoods In Action. Mrs. Vaughn loves travelling with her husband, listening to audiobooks, spending time with her grandchildren and attending Sweet Canaan Baptist Church in Anderson, SC.
